Yesterday 2nd and 3rd year DJCAD art and media students were invited to the DCA (Dundee Contemporary Arts) to hear a talk from Florian and Michael Quistrebert prior to their exhibition “Visions of Void” opening this Friday. These brothers are very interested in light work and we were shown their videos and painting that incorporate light. I took some pictures of the paintings from the presentation (sorry about the bad quality).
What I love about these paintings is the detail. The line work is very interesting and they even use chrome in some of their paintings to reflect light and highlight the thickness of the paint. Its great to see practicing artists being successful in their field and being told how they make and fund their work. I can’t wait to see their exhibition and I feel very inspired by this talk.
