I like this phrase. A “digital tattoo” is an expression of permanence on what we post on social media. Just as tattoo can be a work of art in some cases; or just a huge mistake, our statuses and photo uploads can also make or break us. A tattoo can hinder candidates from getting a job. This is also true of social media posts as many employers now google their candidates to get a better idea of their personality. Although we do have freedom of speech maybe we should censor what we allow the world to know about us? We all have that Facebook friend who stupidly accepting their parents, aunties, uncles, etc. and now have the embarrassing burden of them commenting and everything they post. Maybe that should be our censorship line that we will never cross. Don’t post anything you wouldn’t want your family to comment on? I know I wouldn’t!
